Transferring your Membership FROM Another Junior League

Are you already a Junior League member? The Junior League of Portland, ME (JLP) welcomes any Provisional, Active, or Sustaining transfer members in good standing. We charge a small fee for all incoming transfers, in addition to any applicable dues.

Active transfer members are encouraged to take a placement upon transferring in and will have access to our online placement catalogue to review and select from available options. Every member is matched with a Placement Advisor to ensure they are getting the most out of their League experience.

How to Request a Transfer In:

  1. To begin the transfer process, please notify your CURRENT League or the one you were most recently a member of. Contact information for any League can be found on the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI) website.
  2. Your current League will initiate the transfer in the AJLI system and the JLP will be notified, after which you will receive a welcome email from our Director of Operations outlining the steps required to complete your transfer.
  3. Once these have been completed, you will be added to the JLP membership roster and have immediate access to our member portal to register for volunteer shifts and events and start connecting with other like-minded women in Maine.

Transferring your Membership TO Another Junior League

Are you moving away from Maine? If you are a CURRENT Junior League of Portland, ME member in good standing or a FORMER Junior League of Portland, ME member and would like to transfer your membership to a League in another city, please send an email to the JLP secretary to request a transfer.

It is advisable to visit the website of the League you wish to transfer to and learn about their transfer policies, as individual Leagues have different policies and processes regarding their membership.
